Sheldon Roodman died at age 74 from prostate cancer. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and the Washington University School of Law. He was Executive Director of Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago from 1977 to 2007. He argued two cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and was awarded the Justice John Paul Stevens Award by the Chicago Bar Foundation for lifelong public service in the practice of law. He is survived by his wife Diane of 49 years, and his daughter Stephanie Roodman Murdock (Jonah) and grandchildren Eve and Solomon Murdock. He is also survived by his brother Stan (Roberta) Roodman and sister Karen (Howard) Kessler and brother-in-law Michael Gale, and many nieces and nephews. Chapel service Wednesday, January 27th at 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 West Rand Road, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
